Samurai Pant 10.0
The Samurai Pant 10.0 advances the visual language of Insane Shell’s Samurai series through a precise balance of tailoring, layering and movement. Crafted from premium fabric in Ivory White, the pant combines an extra-wide trouser with an asymmetric wrap-front panel, creating the appearance of a skirt and trouser occupying the same silhouette.
A clean high waist anchors the construction. From it, an angled panel crosses the front before opening dramatically along one leg, revealing the full-width trouser beneath. A matching extended belt passes through polished metallic D-rings and falls vertically from the waist, becoming both the fastening mechanism and part of the garment’s architecture.
Deep front pleats release volume into the legs, while the floor-length proportion allows the fabric to break gently over footwear. Minimal in colour but complex in construction, the Samurai Pant 10.0 creates its presence through geometry rather than ornamentation.hg
INSPIRATION : The Samurai Pant 10.0 takes inspiration from the layered clothing associated with Japanese warriors, particularly the contrast between disciplined structure and unrestricted movement.
Historical warrior garments were not defined by ornament alone. Their strength came from intelligent layering, overlapping panels and generous proportions that allowed the body to move while preserving a commanding outline.
Insane Shell translates that principle into a contemporary pant. The wrap-front panel suggests the protective overlap of armour and traditional Japanese clothing, while the wide trousers beneath preserve movement and fluidity. The metallic D-rings introduce a modern fastening system in place of a conventional ornamental closure.
“10.0” represents an evolution within the Samurai language—cleaner, quieter and more architectural. The garment is not a replica of historical dress. It is an original contemporary interpretation built around balance, protection and controlled asymmetry.
FABRIC : Crafted from premium fabric selected for its refined surface, fluid fall and ability to retain the pant’s architectural construction.
The material has enough body to preserve the sharp angle of the wrap panel, the depth of the front pleats and the shape of the high waistband. At the same time, it remains fluid enough for the extra-wide legs to move naturally and fall into soft vertical folds.
Its smooth, understated finish complements the minimalist Ivory White palette and keeps attention on the garment’s pattern cutting rather than on excessive surface texture.
COLOUR — IVORY WHITE : The Samurai Pant 10.0 is presented in Ivory White—a warm, softened alternative to stark optical white.
The colour reveals the construction clearly. The angled edge of the wrap panel, vertical fall of the belt, depth of the pleats and movement of the wide legs remain visible through subtle changes in light and shadow.
Ivory White also reinforces the garment’s quiet character. It allows a complex silhouette to appear controlled, meditative and refined rather than visually crowded.
The shade may appear slightly different depending on lighting, photography and individual screen settings.
HIGH-WAISTED CONSTRUCTION : The pant is designed to sit high on the waist, establishing a clean and structured starting point for the layered silhouette.
The waistband remains broad and visually uninterrupted across one side before extending into the wrap fastening. This creates definition around the waist while allowing the lower volume to fall freely.
The high rise also lengthens the body visually and strengthens the transition from the fitted waist to the extra-wide legs.
ASYMMETRICAL WRAP-FRONT PANEL : A sharply angled panel crosses the front of the pant and falls over one leg.
The panel begins at the waist and descends diagonally across the body before opening along the leg. Its asymmetrical edge creates a changing relationship between concealment and exposure: from one angle, the garment resembles a long wrap skirt; from another, the full trouser construction becomes visible beneath it.
The panel is integrated into the waistband rather than added as a detachable layer. This ensures that its direction and fall remain connected to the structure of the pant.
As the wearer moves, the outer panel and inner trouser leg travel independently, giving the otherwise monochromatic design a sense of depth.
SKIRT–TROUSER HYBRID : The Samurai Pant 10.0 exists between two familiar garment categories.
Its outer wrap creates the long, uninterrupted surface associated with a skirt, while the separate trouser legs beneath retain the practicality and freedom of pants. The design does not disguise one form as the other; instead, both remain visible within the same construction.
This hybrid structure allows the garment to feel fluid without limiting movement. It also changes according to the wearer’s position—appearing more skirt-like when still and revealing its trouser foundation while walking.
The outer panel is part of the pant and is not a separate skirt.
METALLIC D-RING CLOSURE : A pair of polished metallic D-rings secures the wrap construction at the waist.
The rings introduce a restrained industrial contrast against the softness of the Ivory White fabric. Their curved metallic form interrupts the otherwise linear construction and draws attention to the point from which the panel and belt extend.
Rather than using a conventional buckle, the D-ring fastening allows the belt to pass through and return on itself. This creates a cleaner, more adaptable closure while reinforcing the garment’s utilitarian Japanese influence.
EXTENDED FABRIC BELT : A matching fabric belt is built into the waist and passes through the D-ring closure.
After fastening, its extended end falls vertically over the front of the pant, creating a narrow line against the broader wrap panel and wide trouser legs. The length is deliberate and forms part of the design rather than excess fabric intended to be concealed.
The belt may be adjusted within the limits of the construction to refine the hold at the waist. Once secured, the long end should be allowed to fall naturally for the intended silhouette.
DEEP FRONT PLEATS : Deep pleats are positioned beneath the waistband to release volume into the trousers.
Their placement prevents the extra-wide legs from appearing shapeless. The pleats remain controlled near the waist before opening progressively through the body, allowing the fabric to move without creating unnecessary bulk around the hips.
On the side less covered by the wrap panel, the pleating becomes an important visible element. Its vertical lines balance the diagonal direction of the outer layer and establish a conversation between structure and movement.
EXTRA-WIDE LEGS : Beneath the asymmetric panel, the trousers are cut with a generous width through both legs.
The silhouette falls broadly from the waist rather than tapering through the thigh or knee. This creates comfort, ease of movement and a strong uninterrupted line towards the floor.
The width also allows the fabric to form long, fluid folds while walking. Although the shape carries significant volume, the clean Ivory White palette and high waistband prevent it from feeling visually heavy.
FLOOR-LENGTH DRAPING : The pant is intentionally designed with an elongated, floor-length proportion.
Depending on the wearer’s height and footwear, the hems may skim the floor, break softly over the shoes or create a controlled pool around the feet. This extended length is essential to the garment’s architectural expression.
The wrap panel also continues substantially down the leg, reinforcing the vertical movement of the silhouette without completely covering the trousers beneath.
For the most accurate result, customers selecting custom sizing should provide their height and preferred footwear height in addition to waist and hip measurements.
FUNCTIONAL SIDE POCKETS : Side pockets are integrated into the trouser construction beneath the layered front.
Their placement allows practical use without interrupting the clean surface of the wrap panel. The openings sit naturally near the hips and remain visually restrained when not in use.
The pockets add function to the sculptural silhouette while preserving its minimal appearance.
ARCHITECTURAL SILHOUETTE : The garment is constructed around three primary directions.
The waistband creates a controlled horizontal line. The wrap panel cuts diagonally across the body. The belt and extra-wide trouser legs then descend vertically towards the floor.
Together, these directions create an architectural composition that changes with the wearer’s movement. The pant remains minimal in colour, but its layered geometry prevents the design from appearing simple or conventional.
From the front, the D-ring fastening and diagonal wrap dominate the composition. From the side, the separation between the panel and underlying leg becomes more visible. In motion, the garment opens and closes around the body, continuously rearranging its lines.
SHAPE : Designed with a high waist, structured wrap, deep pleats, extra-wide legs and an extended floor-length finish.
The silhouette remains defined around the waist before expanding substantially through the lower body. One leg is partially framed by the angled wrap panel, while the opposite side reveals more of the pleated trouser construction.
The deliberate imbalance between the two sides is central to the design. Rather than mirroring each other, they perform different visual roles within the same garment.
FIT : Structured at the high waist and relaxed through the hips, thighs, knees and lower legs.
Select your usual size for the intended balance between a secure waist and generous lower volume. If your measurements fall between sizes, select according to your waist and hip measurements rather than the width of the legs.
The D-ring system offers limited adjustment but should not be treated as a replacement for selecting the correct waist size.
Custom alterations may be requested for the waist, rise, hips, pleat depth, wrap-panel length, belt length, leg width and overall trouser length.
CONTEMPORARY MINIMALIST LUXURY : The Samurai Pant 10.0 demonstrates that minimalism does not require simplicity of construction.
Its Ivory White surface is deliberately restrained, allowing the complexity of the pattern to reveal itself gradually. The pant’s luxury is communicated through proportion, panel placement, fastening, drape and finishing rather than through external decoration.
The result is quiet but unmistakable—a garment capable of holding attention without relying on logos, print or embroidery.
VERSATILE STYLING : Pair the Samurai Pant 10.0 with an Ivory or cream knit for a continuous tonal composition that keeps the layered construction at the centre.
It may also be styled with a black fitted shirt, cropped jacket or structured kimono-inspired layer to create greater contrast. A clean tucked top reveals the high waist and D-ring closure most clearly, while a shorter relaxed layer preserves the pant’s proportions without concealing the wrap architecture.
Minimal footwear allows the floor-length drape to remain uninterrupted. White shoes create a continuous visual line, while black footwear adds a stronger graphic contrast beneath the Ivory hem.
The knitwear, jewellery, footwear and other accessories shown in the imagery are styling elements and are not included with the Samurai Pant 10.0.
PRODUCTION TIMELINE : Each Samurai Pant 10.0 requires approximately 7–10 days to create. The garment is cut and constructed only after an order has been placed.
Particular attention is given to forming the high waistband, balancing the asymmetric wrap panel, positioning the D-rings, finishing the extended belt, controlling the depth of the pleats and ensuring that both wide trouser legs and the outer panel fall at the intended length.
This production period does not include delivery time.
CUSTOMISATION OPTION : Conscious of our environmental responsibility, Insane Shell is a 100% made-to-order brand. Every piece ordered through our website is created specifically for you. Our standard size chart is designed to accommodate a wide range of body types.
If you require alterations to the waist, rise, hips, wrap-panel length, belt length, leg width or overall trouser length, select the CUSTOM option while placing your order, and our team will contact you for the necessary measurements and details.
For customised length, we recommend providing the height of the footwear with which you intend to wear the pant.
PLEASE NOTE : The Samurai Pant 10.0 is intentionally floor length. The exact hem break and amount of pooling will vary according to the wearer’s height, body proportions and footwear.
Ivory White requires careful handling. Avoid contact with dark surfaces, fresh dyes, makeup, ink and rough flooring. Take additional care when using stairs or walking on wet or uneven ground.
The D-ring closure should be threaded securely before wear. Minor differences in the way the wrap panel and belt fall are natural and may occur according to individual measurements, movement and styling.
DELIVERY TIMELINE : Once production is complete and the pant has been dispatched, delivery takes approximately 3–15 days, depending on your destination and courier service. We deliver across India and internationally.
Customs duties, import taxes or other destination-specific charges, where applicable, are the responsibility of the customer.
EXPEDITED DELIVERY : If you require expedited shipping with an estimated transit time of 2–3 days, please contact our customer-care team with your delivery location and required date before placing your order.
We will assist you with a special request wherever production feasibility, courier availability and the destination permit. Expedited shipping refers to transit after dispatch and does not automatically reduce the 7–10 day production timeline unless confirmed by our team before the order is placed.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS : Professional dry cleaning only to preserve the Ivory White colour, pleated structure, wrap panel and metallic D-ring hardware.
Do not wash, bleach, soak, wring or tumble dry. Avoid rubbing marks directly, as this may spread the stain or alter the finish of the fabric.
If pressing is required, use low to medium heat with a protective cloth. Press the wrap panel, pleats and trouser legs separately to preserve their intended directions. Do not iron directly over the metallic D-rings.
Store the pant on a clip hanger from the waistband or fold it carefully along the established pleats. Ensure that the floor-length hems are clean and completely dry before storage.
EXCHANGE & RETURN : We offer a free exchange within 30 days of delivery in case of sizing issues or damage. We do not accept returns because every garment is created specifically for its wearer.
When a made-to-order piece is returned or left unaccepted, it risks becoming waste—and that is something we do not wish to promote.
