INSPIRATION : The Anux Shirt draws inspiration from the cheongsam’s standing collar, asymmetric opening and traditional Chinese knot closures. Rather than reproducing the conventional silhouette, Insane Shell has isolated these recognisable elements and rebuilt them through a contemporary design language.
The result is an original shirt that respects its reference while changing its proportion and attitude. The fitted dress form traditionally associated with the cheongsam is transformed into a cropped, sleeveless separate with structured shoulders and layered geometric panels.
FABRIC : Crafted from a premium fabric selected for its smooth surface, refined finish and ability to hold a sculptural silhouette. The material has sufficient body to maintain the standing collar, extended shoulders and layered front without appearing stiff or heavy.
Its clean surface allows the construction to remain clearly visible, particularly where the front panels overlap and the knot closures sit against the body. The fabric responds gently to light, giving both colour options a subtle sense of depth.
CHINESE KNOT BUTTONS : Three Chinese-inspired knot buttons form the central detail of the Anux Shirt. Positioned diagonally rather than in a conventional vertical line, they follow the movement of the asymmetric front and reinforce the garment’s architectural composition.
Each fastening is individually constructed and positioned by hand. The buttons remain tonal to the chosen colour, allowing their shape and dimensionality to provide detail without interrupting the shirt’s restrained appearance.
SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION : The Anux Shirt is built through overlapping and shaped front panels rather than the straight placket of a regular shirt. The upper panel begins near the standing collar and moves diagonally across the chest, creating an asymmetric opening secured by the three knot closures.
A rounded secondary panel extends over the lower front, adding another level of depth to the construction. The layered arrangement gives the garment visual movement while maintaining a clean, controlled exterior.
The shoulders extend beyond the natural shoulder line to form structured cap sleeves. This creates a strong frame around the upper body without requiring conventional sleeves or heavy padding.
COLLAR : A high standing collar creates a precise frame around the neck and connects directly to the asymmetric front construction. Its softly curved opening prevents the neckline from appearing severe while preserving the refined upright shape associated with cheongsam design.
SHAPE : Designed with a cropped, waist-length body, defined extended shoulders and a straight yet gently shaped torso. The structured cap sleeves create breadth across the upper body, while the abbreviated length keeps the overall proportion balanced.
The layered front sits slightly away from the body in places, giving the shirt dimension and preventing the close silhouette from feeling restrictive.
FIT : Designed for a clean, close fit through the chest and body, balanced by the wider architectural shoulder line. The shirt should sit neatly at the waist without clinging rigidly to the frame.

STYLING : Style the Anux Shirt with wide, high-waisted trousers to balance its cropped structure, or pair it with a long skirt for a more elongated silhouette. Void may be worn as part of an uninterrupted black composition, while Snow creates a sharp contrast against darker tailoring.

MAN HOURS / PRODUCTION TIMELINE : Each Anux Shirt is made only after an order has been placed and requires approximately 5–7 days to create. Time is dedicated to cutting and shaping the layered panels, constructing the standing collar, forming each knot closure and refining the shoulder and waist proportions.

DELIVERY TIMELINE : Once the product has been completed and shipped, delivery requires approximately 3–15 days, depending on your location and the applicable courier service. We deliver across India and internationally.

Open and close the shirt by handling each knot fastening gently. Do not pull directly on the extended loops or layered front panels.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS : Professional dry cleaning only. Do not wash, soak, wring or tumble dry. Iron from the reverse side at a low temperature using a protective cloth, and avoid applying direct pressure to the knot closures.
Store the shirt on a padded hanger with sufficient space around the shoulders to preserve its architectural shape.
EXCHANGE & RETURN : We offer a free exchange within 30 days of delivery in case of sizing issues or damage. We do not accept returns because every garment is created specifically after an order has been placed. When a made-to-order piece is returned or left unaccepted, it risks becoming waste—and that is something we do not wish to promote.
